Dream Chasers – Do One Thing Today that Scares you

Listen up, Dream Chasers: Dreaming out loud can be scary as hell

Between the voices of the world and the voices in your head, following the life of your dreams seems daunting at best on some days.

I’ve been there. Heck, I am there. I don’t actually put myself out into the world because sharing comes naturally to me.

It’s tough to be selectively open and so when we open ourselves up to success and happiness, we also run the risk of criticism and haters (gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Sorry. I live with a seven-year-old).

Remember yesterday, when I talked all about Finding Your Power? Well, today, I need to talk a little bit about surrender. These two ideas may seem entirely disparate, but in truth they’re very closely related.

Yes, you have all the power to change your life for the better. Yes, there is also a subtle magic at work, underlying everything. Sorry if it sounds complex…because it’s complex. Life and dreams are a study in complexity.

Last night, I had to make a business decision about whether to move forward with something or not. The whole idea made me feel uncertain and out of control.

I absolutely had to make a decision and I was under a strict budget of time.

Remember how I said the other day that if all you’re going to do is meditate, nothing is ever going to really happen for you?

Well, to further my study in opposites and contradictions, meditating is exactly what I needed to do. Of course I pulled cards and consulted my wisest friends.

Once the data was gathered, there was nothing to do but just let go and free fall. I closed my eyes and got silent.

The answer was already there. Duh.

Sometimes surrender looks like a good night’s rest before making an important decision. Sometimes it looks like letting go of what you thought you wanted in favour of what you want now. Sometimes it’s the opposite.

Like I said, Dream Chasing ain’t for sissies.

I had to move forward, and it was scary.

Now that I’ve moved forward, the bulk of the fear is gone and all that’s left is the residue. Like waking up from a scary dream but still having the feels.

Here’s what I have to say to you about making scary choices in regards to following your dreams:

Absolutely gather all the data you can. Research, interview and consult your horoscope. Use all the resources you have available to you in all of Heaven and Earth.

And then, sweetheart, you’ve just gotta let go.

Scary decisions = forward momentum

See if you can make one today.

Let’s do it together.

One…two…three…
