Some days, I give this blog more than I give the book I’m writing. Some days (like today) I spent a great deal of the morning working into the black hole that can sometimes be a big project and now my word brain is a little spent.
On a day like today, I think it’s fun to take a few minute to be creative in a different way than I usually am. I enjoy baking and painting water colours with my daughter and we sing a song together every night before bed (last night was Feels Like Home which made us both tear up).
Today, I will likely do all of those things, but additionally I decided to rip together a quick set and take a few yoga pics.
I personally find the physical practice of yoga (asana) to be one of the most beautiful things I feast my eyes upon. As a teacher, I’ve been moved more times than I can count by the way you look on your mats.
You are so lovely and so brave.
I find the images of yogis and yoginis at play so completely wonderful, regardless of the practitioner’s body type or athletic ability or bendiness.
This was my practice today, my quick creative break in the middle of a day of parenting and housewifeing and writing. I have been stronger and bendier at other points in my life. I had a baby not quite four months ago. I’ll stop saying, “I just had a baby” sometime around his second birthday…
How do you break up the day?
