Your Most Important Work

As a life coach, specializing in helping people achieve dream-come-true lives, I often have clients come to work with me because they are confused about their life’s purpose

They want to know what their most important work is

Most of them know that they came here to make huge impact (even if it’s a quiet impact. a lot of us are introverts here).

Most of them know that they came here to LOVE BIG.

They know that they DIDN’T come to suffer or pitch a tent in their bitterness, but they don’t know WHAT to do next in order to get from HERE to THERE.

If you, too, are wondering what your most important work is in this world that seems to be so increasingly antagonistic, I will tell you (as I tell my clients).

The greatest and most important work, the most challenging work of your whole life is to actively learn to love yourself in all the cracks and wiggles and fuck-ups — all the places within you that the world has told you didn’t deserve your love or anyone else’s

If you can master this, if you can love yourself unconditionally, no matter what, if you can walk through the fire of your own culturally trained self-loathing, then there is literally nothing on this Earth that you can’t do.

There is no amount of love that you can’t have when you first devote time and energy and (above all) habit of thought to giving yourself the love that life as a human has leeched out of your bones.

Until you take the time to become a PhD in self-love, there is nothing another person can do or be or give that will be enough to feed the hungry ghost that’s taken up residence in your soul.

This is why thinking that you can alter the behaviour of another is the absolute wrong place to begin.

For one, you cannot alter the behaviour of another. You might influence it with your words and deeds and energy and intention, but you will never be convincing enough to change them.

For another, even if you could alter the behaviour of another, even if he or she is the most important person in your life, their altered behaviour won’t give you the boost you were hoping for because no one can fill the void of self-love lost other than you.

Everything worthwhile that you will do to help humanity, everything you accomplish, every inspired thought, every beautiful relationship, every powerful word you speak will stem from this deep and abiding love of self.

It is your MOST important work.

It is the place to start. Always.

If you don’t know where to start or how to start, you can start with me if you want. I learned how to love myself back from the edge. I know what my important work in the world is because I have done the most important work. Click here for details or email info@clumsygrace.com
